Mayersohn Law Group, P.A. is seeking a highly experienced Criminal Defense Trial Attorney with a proven record of jury trial success (50+ trials), federal case exposure, and a strong background in prosecution. This role is designed for a senior-level litigator who can independently manage complex criminal cases from intake through resolution.
The ideal candidate brings strategic thinking, strong courtroom presence, and disciplined case management, along with the ability to make sound legal decisions under pressure. You will serve as lead counsel on serious criminal matters, develop effective defense strategies, and advocate for clients at the highest level.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Criminal Defense Litigation
- Serve as lead counsel on felony and high-stakes criminal cases
- Manage cases from intake through resolution with strong follow-through
- Represent clients in hearings, negotiations, and jury trials
- Maintain a confident, professional courtroom presence
Case Strategy and Development
- Evaluate cases early to identify risks, strengths, and strategic opportunities
- Develop tailored, results-oriented defense strategies
- Leverage prosecutorial insight to anticipate opposing arguments
- Apply sound judgment in high-pressure legal situations
- Implement forward-thinking, strategic approaches to case management
Legal Writing and Trial Preparation
- Draft, review, and file motions, briefs, and legal documents with precision
- Maintain organized, trial-ready case files
- Conduct targeted legal research and apply strong analytical reasoning
- Prepare thoroughly for hearings, depositions, and trial proceedings
Client Communication and Team Collaboration
- Communicate clearly and professionally with clients
- Provide candid case assessments and manage expectations
- Collaborate effectively with attorneys and staff while maintaining case ownership
- Contribute to a solutions-oriented, accountable team environment
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Several years of criminal defense experience with progressive responsibility
- Extensive jury trial experience (50+ trials preferred)
- Federal criminal case experience
- Active Florida Bar license in good standing
- Ability to meet or exceed monthly billable hour requirements
Preferred
- Prior prosecutorial experience
- Experience handling post-conviction motions
